“Body and Art” is an exhibition about the outer and the inner worlds of our bodies. It explores a variety of questions about what we are made of, what organs as well as feelings live in us, what we can perceive through our senses, and how we relate to our bodies through imagination. The exhibition offers to involve all senses, to look at other kids’ works and to create your own as well. It aims to raise self-awareness, curiosity, and appreciation of the body. Every body is different and uniquely beautiful. The exhibition is open at  Kinder Künste Zentrum Berlin until the end of June 2018. Every Sunday you can also visit us and join a FamilyWorkshop.

A mix between an installation and a workshop for families. It’s a merged experience between making and playing, participating and observing, works of “artists” and works of “visitors”, where visitors are creators too. The space is transformed by the power of our imagination, as we set out for a nocturnal exploration. Starting from the idea that at night everything is different, we create different stations of a journey through the night, where children and adults participate in creative activities, make their own masks, play with the experience of dark and light, draw with closed eyes, explore a cave with a flashlight, and together discover a surreal night world.

Caves are our unifying human cultural heritage. Caves were there long before humans separated into groups, nations, religions. In caves the art of our civilization was born. We are interested in the cave as a metaphor, as a thread in human history. A connection to ancient humans. Ancestors of all. Cultural history going across thousands of years. We have designed “Cave adventures” as a fusion between a workshop and a participatory art installation. Through movement and drawing, sound and light, paper cutouts and shadows play, art installation and projections of moving images, we create a space where kids’ creativity can unfold naturally. Their curiosity and sense of adventure wake up as we venture together on the journey into the cave.

The workshop is using the cave installation and offers kids playful participatory experience that combines the wonder of discovery with a strong educational impact. It is designed as a meeting place of analog and digital, poetic and scientific, artistic and experiential, learning and expressing. Every child is invited to co-create her or his experience in this workshop. We will venture on a journey into the mountains together, nurturing sense of exploration and discovery. We will do some fun movement exercises in the group. After that kids will be invited to engage in making their own animals using different artistic mediums: drawing, cut-outs, printing. Following this each kid will be invited one by one to enter into the cave, to explore it with a torch, to experience shadow play created by other kids from outside, and when reaching the end of the cave to discover their own handmade animals projected onto the wall. In this final act latest technologies contribute to the creation of a surprise, sense of magic and delight.
