There is growing concern that technology is contributing toward so-called phenomena of “continuous partial attention”, limiting people’s ability to focus. Instead of blaming technology and making it responsible for our addictions, we can instead train our attention and choice. Tech companies can exploit such vulnerabilities (like the need of approval, for example) to keep people hooked only when people don’t take back their own will and responsibility for their attention.

This workshops is about reclaiming our own attention and focus by training and practising mental and physical exercises. High level of concentration and focus are indispensable for creative ideas, decision making and better productivity, but also our general well-being. The workflow is divided between facilitated discussion about the nature and mechanisms that influence our ability to concentrate, as well as individual and group exercises that help to bring one’s attention and focus in a daily work context.
